Every shop is different, and costs vary greatly. We will be able to qoute on a shop once we have discussed the details of your store with you.

The Actinic License
Different licenses must be bought from Actinic depending on how you want the shop to be managed.
There are basically 2 different licenses to consider.

The Design and Build
This is where prices can vary greatly.
The two main variables are design depth and number of products
Design
Basic Design from £500.00 |
Actinic comes with basic templates included. If you use a basic template the costs are much lower.
However the templates are not very exciting and as more people use them, your store will look the same as others on the net. Thats not to say they cant be adjusted to give a slightly more individual feel.
The cost of designing and installing a site using a basic template but adding a 'flash' banner and adjusting the colours etc starts at approx £500.00.

Bespoke Design from £1000.00 to £4000.00 |

arka-shop is an example of a highly edited template. The branding was done by arka. The site has an individual feel. The images and style give the site a unique feel. For a more powerful web presence choose a bespoke design.

'Design' includes setting up your shop online, connecting actinic to your chosen payment system, setting up shop departments, business settings, postal rates, writing HTML Tags, etc.
Regarding payment systems, we recommend using a PSP. (payment service provider) like Protx . This takes the headache out of taking your own credit card payments. They can link in to your merchant account.
Paypal offers easy processing of credit cards for businesses without merchant accounts.
Products

It is a time consuming and technical task to take good pictures of products and then compress them for the internet.
People essentially 'buy the picture' so it is important that your pictures are of good quality. See the above example sites for pictures we have taken.
Pictures must be jpegs at 72pixels per inch. Approximately 200x200pixels
Adding products to the site is a simple but again time consuming process.If you buy actinic catalog you may consider doing this yourself.
If you supply the pictures, we can add them to your site at approx £1.00 a product.
If you supply us with product details on a spreadsheet it is a much quicker task.

We can take and edit the pictures for you. As a very rough estimate we can produce 50 pictures a day at £100.00 a day, thats £2.00 a picture.
We can then add the products to your site at approx £1.00 a product.
So for products photographed,edited and uploaded by us, a rough guidline would be £3.00 a product.
If you supply us with product details on a spreadsheet it is a much quicker task.

Hosting
Once your website is built it needs hosting.
We can host your actinic website on the arka server. It is a very fast and reliable server housed in a secure data centre in Fareham. The specifications of the server are available on request.

Our basic Actinic package, which is ample for most shops is £160.00 a year.
This gives 100Mb of shop space and up to 2Gb of traffic a month. |
Summary
The all in price of an actinic shop can be as little as £1000.00 and as much as £5000.00. depending on how you want the shop to look, how many products youre going to sell, and how much of the building and managing of the shop you want to do yourself.
We believe the best way to come to a decision on an actinic site is to decide on a budget first.
